87th Annual Academy Award Nominations

The 87th annual Academy Award nominations were announced this morning.

I can't say there's anything on the list of particular note for me this year, though I do hope to see THE IMITATION GAME (2014) in the near future. (Update: Here is the review.)

I was somewhat surprised that THE LEGO MOVIE (2014) didn't rate a nomination for Best Animated Film, although its anthem "Everything is Awesome!" was nominated for Best Song. (Update: Phil Lord, director of THE LEGO MOVIE, sent out a wonderful Tweet.)

Winners will be announced February 22nd.

Previously: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. There was no Oscar post in 2009.

Side note, as of this morning Blogger doesn't seem to be allowing post titles to link to other posts as I have always done. We'll see if that's a permanent change or not.
